A traffic stop in Stone Mills Township on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, ended with criminal charges after a driver attempted to flee police.
Around 11 a.m., members of the Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were performing traffic enforcement on County Road 1 when they tried to stop a vehicle traveling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. The driver fled at a high rate of speed before being stopped just east of Napanee.
Olivia Veley, 20, of Stone Mills, faces several charges, including flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle, stunt driving, driving without insurance, and operating a vehicle without a currently validated permit.
Veley was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on December 16, 2025. The accused’s driver licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
