As Small Business Week is celebrated across Canada, the Lennox & Addington Chamber of Commerce is recognizing the strength and resilience of local entrepreneurs.
Chamber president Ken Shurtliffe shared with myFM the business community in Lennox and Addington County continues to thrive,
The Chamber supports small businesses through programs like an affordable employee benefits plan and monthly Business After Five networking events, open to members and non-members. It also advocates for local businesses by sharing community concerns with the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce.
Shurtliffe encouraged residents to support small businesses, noting that local entrepreneurs are often generous sponsors of community and nonprofit events.
He added that small businesses make up about 98 per cent of all businesses in Ontario and employ up to 70 per cent of local workers, making their success vital to the region’s economy and community well-being.
