A RIDE program in Prince Edward County has led to impaired driving charges against a Belleville driver.
The Ontario Provincial Police say officers were conducting roadside checks on County Road 4 shortly after midnight on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A vehicle entered the stop, and officers used a roadside alcohol screening device on the driver.
Police say the driver was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing.
The 39-year-old has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Their licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 8, 2025.
