The Museum of Lennox & Addington has opened a photographic time capsule that has been sealed for 25 years, giving the public a look back at life in Greater Napanee at the start of the millennium.
myFM spoke with Liz Watkins-McLean from the museum, who says this project was created in 2000 by the Kinette Club of Napanee
The “Memories of the Millennium” collection will be unveiled this evening, (Tuesday, September 16) at the museum.
The collection includes rare snapshots of Gibbard Furniture workers, Christmas Town celebrations, the 20th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run, and Avril Lavigne’s final Napanee show before her New York debut.
Admission is free, with special remarks from former Millennium Committee members at 6:30 p.m. Additional viewing runs September 17 and 18.
