Greater Napanee voters in Ward 3 will be heading to the polls early next year to elect a new councillor.
At its September 9 meeting, Council voted to hold a by-election to fill the vacant Ward 3 seat for the remainder of the current term. The election will be held through internet and telephone voting, with key dates now confirmed.
Candidate nominations open October 15 and close December 5 at 2 p.m. Election Day is set for Monday, January 19, 2026. Advance voting dates will be announced later. The successful candidate will be sworn in during the regular Council meeting on January 27.
Anyone interested in running must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old on Election Day, and own or rent property in Greater Napanee. More information is available at greaternapanee.com/elections.
