That hot, dry July is behind us, begging the question as to what August has in store for us weather-wise.
Evironment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says it looks like more of the same.
The silver lining on the few clouds in the sky, is that with a dry July there wasn’t nearly as much severe weather.
The number of tornadoes was also down.
Phillips agrees that smoke has been a big concern across our listening area, and the province, thanks to a bad year for wildfires in the west.
Overall, Phillips says a wet spring followed by a dry summer hasn’t been the worst for crops throughout Ontario, but local farmers we’ve spoken too say they have lost crops, or are on the verge of doing so thanks to the lack of rain.
