Lennox and Addington County is looking for volunteers to join its new Agricultural Lands Advisory Committee. The group will help guide a Land Evaluation and Area Review (LEAR) study, which aims to identify and protect the county’s prime farmland.
County Council approved the committee on February 26, 2025, after months of planning with Greater Napanee, Stone Mills, and Loyalist Township. Officials say local knowledge is key to making informed decisions about agricultural land classification and future planning.
Residents of Lennox and Addington with a passion for rural land are encouraged to apply. Applicants cannot be members of municipal or County Council and must be able to commit time to the project.
The deadline to apply is March 27, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.. For more details or to apply, visit the LEAR study website.
