The Liberal Leadership race is underway, looking for a new leader of the Federal Liberal Party and a new Prime Minister.
myFM spoke with Aline Lamere with the Hastings-Lennox & Addington-Tyendinaga (H-LA-T) Federal Liberal Association, who provided us a timeline for the leadership election.
Once all of the candidates have declared, Liberals across the country will cast their vote for the new leader. Lamere shared with us who can register to vote.

As of Monday morning, candidates for the Liberal Leadership race include Mark Carney, Chrystia Freeland, Karina Gould, Chandra Arya, Jaime Battiste, and Frank Baylis.
On the home front, there’s no Liberal candidate just yet, but one is expected to be named soon.
You may have also noticed the riding has had a name change to include Tyendinaga. Lamere explains,
There has also been a slight geographic change, adding a portion of Quinte West. You can see the change on the maps below.
