Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit recovered a stolen trailer and equipment worth over $50,000 less than 12-hours after the theft was reported.
The theft occurred early Thursday morning, January 9, 2025, at a construction site on Phillips Road in Tyendinaga Township. Police believe the large, enclosed trailer was taken around 3:00 a.m., along with custom windows, power tools, and other equipment.
Shortly after receiving the report at 8:00 a.m., investigators tracked the stolen items to a location on Trudeau Lane in Tweed. Officers successfully recovered the trailer and other stolen property, which has since been returned to its owner.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify those responsible.
