The Lennox and Addington County OPP have charged a driver with impaired driving and other crimes.
On Friday, just before 11:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 41 in Stone Mills Township. The driver resisted arrest and fled into a wooded area but was soon found and arrested thanks to help from the OPP Canine Unit.
32-year-old Datius Charlery of York faces multiple charges including:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Resist peace officer
- Escape lawful custody
- Obstruct peace officer – two counts
- Failure to comply with release order – six counts
- Speeding 1 – 49km/h over posted limit
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
He was held for a bail hearing.

The L&A OPP have also charged a driver with impaired driving after they received multiple complaints.
On Saturday just after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the reports in Addington Street in Loyalist Township. They arrested the driver, Travis Monroe, 34, of Amherstview.
Monroe faces multiple charges including:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
- Fail to ensure child properly secured
- Drive while child passenger not properly secured
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on June 4.
His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
