This weekend, Loyalist Township will be hosting their annual E-Waste, Battery & Textile Drive to help encourage responsible recycling and celebrate Earth Day!
The collection drive takes place Saturday, April 20th from 9am to 12pm.
myFM spoke with township mayor Jim Hegadorn, who let us know items can be dropped off at the Amherstview fire hall.
New this year, they’re also accepting textiles. They say the average person throws away 37 kg of textiles per year.
Also happening April 20th, Free Flow Petroleum in Bath has sponsored a community cleanup in the Village from 9am to 12pm.
Hegadorn says they appreciate the community groups that have come together to organize this clean up.
For a full list of items being accepted at the drop-off, visit the Township’s Earth Day webpage. On there you can also find out how to dispose of these items year-round.
