The Napanee Raiders walked away with an impressive win last night from Picton in their game against the Pirates.
Raiders Ben White scored early in the 1st period to take the 1-0 lead. Then a minute and a half later Picton would score to tie the game before scoring once more on the period to take a 2-1 lead. The second period saw the Raiders take the lead back with three more goals thanks to Adam Nuttall, Michael Patrick and a second on the night from White. With four seconds left in the period, the pirates found the back of the net for a 4-3 Raiders lead. The third period opened with goals by two of the Ben’s, Carter and Chubbs and then back-to-back goals by Andrew Carr. The Pirates would only be able to score one more in the game for an 8-4 Raiders win.
The Napanee Raiders are sitting in fourth place in the East Tod Division standings with a 20-14-0-1 record and 41 points. They sit behind Frankford (24-7-4-0), Port Hope (22-11-3-1) and Amherstview (23-12-0-0). Followed by Picton (14-19-1-1) and Campbellford (0-31-1-1).
The Raiders return to action tonight when they’ll host the Campbellford Rebels at the SPC. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
