A pair of drivers are facing charges of impaired driving after stops with the Lennox and Addington OPP.
In the first incident on January 26, 2024, around 4:00 p.m., police responded to a collision in Greater Napanee. The suspect vehicle fled after side-swiping another car. The driver of the affected vehicle followed the suspect to a residence where it drove into a garage. The 67-year-old driver, Terry Walters from Napanee, was charged with impaired driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, along with exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit of 80. Walters’ license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded.
The next day, police received a call for a single-car collision in Loyalist Township. The vehicle was in the ditch, and two individuals were walking around it. The 56-year-old driver, James Silver from Bath, was charged with impaired driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit of 80. Silver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded.
Both accused individuals are scheduled to appear in court later in February.
