Three people from the Toronto Area have been charged after a stop with L&A County OPP.
On January 17, 2024, Officers stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 401 west, just east of the Beechwood Road overpass.
The driver underwent a sobriety test, leading to an arrest for impaired operation.
Further investigation at the scene uncovered two weapons, 22 stolen/fraudulent Credit Debit Cards, a stolen passport, a stolen cheque, 13 grams of cannabis, 4 cell phones, a laptop and $1,220.00 in cash.
39-year-old Peter Farkas of North York has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Driving while under suspension
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Farkas, 33-year-old Szabolcs Olah of Toronto and 33-year-old Richard Olah of Toronto are jointly charged for:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of an Identity Document – 24 counts
All accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in Court at a later date.
