The Cpk Interior Products U11B Napanee Stars were solid in a 5-1 win in Tweed. They scored four times- Luke Dunn, Ira Bellegarde, and Henry Boyles (2). Ian Fairbairn tallied in the third stanza. Facing Centre Hastings in Madoc, they fell 6-2. Hunter Armstrong scored first, and Ben de Kairelle added to the total, but it wasn’t enough. They lost to Ennismore 7-3 at the SPC on Sunday. Armstrong would again score, as did Bellegarde and Hunter O’Hoski.
The U11D Stars were winless on the weekend with an 11-0 loss in Stirling, and an 8-2 defeat facing Douro. Finn Jocko and Benn Brady tallied for the locals.
The Goodyear U13 Stars reached the playoffs in the Capital Mid-Season Showdown in Ottawa, placing fourth of eight teams in the round robin. In the semifinals, facing Leitrim, Maddux Hartwick tallied early, but it was not enough as they lost 4-1. In the round robin, they lost 5-0 to Oakville, the eventual tournament champs. They came back with a 4-2 win over Newmarket, a 3-2 squeaker over Cambridge, and a 4-2 triumph over East Enders.
The U15 Napanee Stars defeated Brighton 8-1 on Saturday. Hunter Conger’s shot from the point soared into the net. Callen Wilson took a power play feed in the slot for the winner six minutes in. Wilson added to the total in the second as did Brock Alaver with two, and a single to Colton Lockridge. In the third, Wilson would finish off his hat trick, and Brayden Hartwick added a single. Goalie Carter Cork could not be faulted on a late point shot through a screen to kill the shut-out. Total shots were 33-17 Napanee.
The D&D Electrocraft U18 Napanee Stars cruised past Norwood 7-1 on the road. Carter Slaven had a hat trick, and Jayden Holden, Coulson South, Caleb South, and Owen Kish each had singles. On Sunday, they tied Bancroft 3-3 on the road. Holden gave them an early lead in the first minute, but their hosts got a power play marker before the first ended. Trailing by two in the second period, Tie Wood and Holden would even the score. The third frame was scoreless.
