The Napanee Raiders split their pair of weekend games and remain in third place in the division, earning two more points to bridge the gap between themselves and second place.
Friday, November 24th, the Raiders were home playing the Amherstview Jets. In the first period it was Carter Hartwick who would open the scoring for the Napanee Raiders. Amherstview would go on to score their first to tie and one more in the period to take the lead. The second period saw the Jets score first to solidify their lead with Napanee’s Jackson Barnes scoring to bring the score within one goal once again. Christos Chronis scored for the Raiders to tie the game in the third, but Amherstview would go on to score their fourth of the night for a 4-3 Raiders loss.
Saturday, November 25th, the Raiders were in Campbellford to play the Rebels. Napanee would strike first with a goal by Michael Patrick. With 22 seconds left in the period Campbellford would go on to score and tie the game at 1 a piece. The second period saw two goals for the Raiders by Erik MacNiel and Cameron Krupa. Carter Hartwick opened the scoring for the third period which Campbellford would answer with one of their own, but it wouldn’t be enough. Napanee would go on to score three more thanks to goals by Reid Lambert, Spencer Cranley, and Trent Williams for a 7-2 final.
The Napanee Raiders are sitting in third place in the East Tod Division standings with a 12-7-0-1 record and 25 points. They sit behind Frankford (13-4-3-0) and Port Hope (13-4-1-1). Followed by Amherstview (10-10-0-0), Picton (8-9-0-1) and winless Campbellford (0-17-1-1).
The Raiders return to action Friday, December 1st at home against Campbellford. Puck drop at 7:30pm. Thill will be their lone goal of the game.
