It was a great end of the week for the Napanee Raiders, who are now on a 5-game win streak.
Thursday, November 9th, the Raiders made their first trip of the season to Picton to play the Pirates. Picton would open the scoring in the first period. Napanee would answer that and take the lead thanks to goals by Reid Lambert and Christos Chronis. The Pirates scored early in the second to tie the game, but it would be another two goal period for the Raiders, with Trent Williams and Ben Chubbs scoring within 25 seconds of each other. To solidify their lead in the third period it would be Marshal McFarland, Blake Aylesworth and Ben White scoring for the Raiders. Picton would go on to score one last goal for a 7-3 Raiders win.
Friday, November 10th, Napanee welcomed the Frankford Huskies to the Strathcona Paper Centre. The Huskies would strike first with Aylesworth quickly retaliating to tie the game. Aylesworth would then go on to score his second of the night later in the period. The second period saw just one goal at it was for the Raiders by Michale Patrick. To start the third period the huskies would score their second of the night. Just over a minute and a half later William’s would score the Raiders fourth of the night. Frankford would go on to score one more but would be unable to tie the game, ending in a 4-3 Raiders win.
Sunday, November 12th the Raiders would spend their afternoon in Amherstview to play their L&A County rivals. It was less than a minute into the first period and the Jets would take the lead. This would be the last time the Jets had the lead all game. Goals by Patrick and Jackson Barnes would give the Raiders the lead. The Jets would go on to score one more to end the period tied at 2. The second period saw just one goal and that was for the Raiders by Aylesworth. Third period action got underway with Aylesworth scoring his second of the night. The Jets scored once again to bring the score within one goal. But it was Aylesworth who’s quickly retaliate with his third goal of the night earning himself the hat trick. Chronis would be the next Raiders to add a tally to the score board for the Raiders. Amherstview scored one last goal, which was answered by two more from Cameron Krupa and Clayton Farrow for an 8-4 Raiders win.
