With Homecoming festivities in Kingston this month the University District Safety Initiative runs October 14th through November 1st.
Bylaw and Police police patrols will increase in frequency. Breaking the Nuisance Party Bylaw could lead to a summons being issued or a fine.
Authorities says they’re working closely with Queen’s University, Kingston Fire & Rescue, Frontenac Paramedics, Kingston Health Sciences Centre to ensure minimal disruptions to the community during Homecoming.
Breakwater Park and Gord Edgar Downie Pier will close nightly between 8 and 6:30 the next morning from Thursday, Oct. 19th to Sunday, Oct. 22nd, and from Thursday, Oct. 26th until the morning of Sunday, Oct. 29th.
“We’re urging everyone to conduct themselves in a safe manner and to be mindful of the negative impact their actions could have,” says Kyle Compeau, Manager of Enforcement at the City of Kingston.
