You’re not alone if you think there are more mosquitos this year.
myFM spoke with David Dutkiewicz of the Invasive Species Centre in Sault St. Marie, who says it likely has to do with the cooler temperatures we saw earlier this month, because they’re not the biggest fans of heat.
He says a great way to help slow down their breeding process is to reduce the standing water.
One piece of information worth arming yourself with is that they don’t like wind, according to Dutkiewicz.
As for protection, it’s the obvious but bears repeating, get a good repellant with deet.
