The Hastings-Lennox and Addington Provincial Liberal Association is no doubt watching the news out of Mississauga very closely.
That city’s mayor, Bonnie Crombie is exploring a bid for the leadership of the provincial Liberals and has formed an exploratory committee to weigh her chances.
Bonnie Crombie has held the top job in Mississauga since 2014 and was a federal Liberal Member of Parliament from 2008 to 2011.
The provincial Liberals captured just eight seats in last year’s election, and failed to secure official party status. The Party finished third in local voting in 2022, behind now-MPP Ric Bresee, and the NDP.
