With freezing rain and rain expected for the area, Cataraqui Conservation has also issued a Watershed Condition Statement.
With predicted 20 to 45 millimeters of rain and freezing rain expected for many parts of the region today and next week, water levels are expected to rise despite the efforts by water managers.
In areas where ice is still present, a deterioration of ice conditions is expected. Cataraqui Conservation does not measure ice thickness for advising the public about ice conditions for recreational activities. Ice conditions can vary considerably from one waterbody to the next and within a single water body.
Conservation officials encourage everyone to stay safe near fast flowing water courses as creek banks and shorelines could become slippery.
The statement remains in effect until April 19th at 11:59pm.
