It was a rare weekend for the Napanee Raiders who had a Friday night off and just one game on the road.
Saturday, February 25th, the Raiders hit the road to Frankford to play the Huskies, who opened the scoring early in the first with three unanswered goals. With just shy of 4 minutes left in the period, Ben White scores the first of the night for the Raiders. The second period say two goals for the Raiders by Michael Patrick and Soren Zamuner to tie the game at 3-3. Following a scoreless third period, it only took Napanee’s Ryan Kidd 1:32 into overtime to score, for a 4-3 Napanee Raiders win.
The Napanee Raiders have secured top spot in the East Tod Division standings with a 34-5-1 record and 69 points. Currently in 2nd place is the Jets who have 50 points, 3rd place is Picton with 46, in 4th is Port Hope with 43, locked in 5th place is Frankford with 32 points, and Campbellford locked in in 6th with 9 points.
The Raiders return to action Friday, March 3rd, when they will be hosting the Campbellford Rebels at the SPC. Puck drop is 7:30pm. They will then be back in Frankford the following night, Saturday, March 4th, to play the Huskies. Puck drop is 6:50pm.
