Napanee Raiders chalked up two more wins as they make it to the halfway point of the season.
Thursday, December 1st, the Raiders traveled to face the Picton Pirates. The last time these two teams met, the pirates walked away victors, being the first team to defeat the Raiders this season. Scoring didn’t open until the second period when Picton struck first. Napanee then answered with two goals by Blake Aylesworth and Noah Westwater. With no more goals scored during the third period, Napanee won 2-1.
Friday, December 2nd the Raiders hosted the Campbellford Rebels. Noah Jacobson, Marshall McFarland and Blake Aylesworth each scored for a 3-0 Raiders lead at the end of the first. Scoring opened in the second with two goals for the Raiders from Blake Aylesworth and Adam Nuttall. Then a penalty shot for the Rebels gave them the opportunity to score their first goal of the night. Third period saw just one goal which was scored by the Rebels. Raiders won 5-2.
The Napanee Raiders remain atop the East Tod Division standings with a 19-2 record and 38 points. In second place is the Jets who have 27 points and third place Picton with 22.
The Raiders will be back in action Friday, December 9th at the SPC against the Amherstview Jets. Puck drop is 7:30pm. Then on Saturday, December 10th the Raiders travel to Port Hope to play the Panthers at 7:30pm
