No one likes getting a parking ticket. But this time of year, they can help bring a smile to a local child’s face.
New this year, the Town of Greater Napanee is offering a winter parking forgiveness program.
myFM spoke with Town Clerk Jessica Walters, who says this is similar to programs other municipalities have in place.
Any parking tickets issued between November 21st and December 16th can be included in the program. Walters tells us how the program works.
Anyone who receives a ticket can also pay cash in lieu of, which will also be donated. Donations this year are going to the Greater Napanee Firefighters toy drive and food hamper drive.
One of the main questions the Town received when they first announced the program was if parking rules were changing. The answer is no, parking rules are staying the same.
