Staff at the UEL Heritage Centre and Park have planted 33 trees to replace those that were removed
Staff received a grant from the Town of Greater Napanee and Atura Power Generation to remove infested trees over the last year.
Earlier this month, an official planting ceremony took place on the grounds just west of the cemetery, where a sugar maple tree was planted.
UELHCP Park Board member David Smith attended the ceremony in uniform and was joined by Greater Napanee Councillor John McCormick and park manager Dave Wagar.
They say more trees will be planted in the spring of 2023.
