A singer from Napanee is getting ready to take part in the 2022 Canadian National Exhibition’s annual Rising Star Competition.
15-year-old Jade Peter has been singing since before she could talk, telling myFM she would babble along to the songs on the radio when she was little. When she was finally able to talk and her parents noticed how much she enjoyed to sing, they enrolled her in singing lessons.
Peter auditioned and found out she made it into the competition. She will be one of 12 contestants entering the first round beginning August 19. The finals will be taking place on September 3 and 4 inside the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
She tells us she’s very excited to be taking part.
Peter tells us about what the future of her singing journey looks like.
