The Kingston and District Labour Council is condemning the firings of six Lennox and Addington Interval House workers, who were fired the day they returned to work after their five-month-long strike.
KDLC President Chris Snooks commented in a release how these workers fought to improve working conditions and improve Interval House’s essential services. “Having a toxic work environment in a shelter doesn’t make any sense,” he said.
KDLC will be hosting a public rally on Saturday, June 4th in Napanee, where there will be a fundraiser to raise money for the six fired workers.
A location and time has yet to be determined.
