In honour of Earth Day, the town of Greater Napanee is hosting a seedling hand out day
myFM spoke with Kylie Huffman, who told us about the seedlings available.
This event takes place This Saturday in the Strathcona Paper Centre’s Parking lot from 9am until noon.
“The benefits of planting native trees on your property are endless! They help to clean air and lock up carbon, slow and filter runoff, replenish groundwater and reduce flooding, enhance habitat for wildlife, as well as improve your family’s general health, and so much more,” says Maya Navrot, Quinte Conservation Outreach and Stewardship Coordinator at Quinte Conservation.
The town will also be handing out bags for anyone interested in going out and cleaning up the community.
For more information, you can visit the town’s website.
