It was a busy weekend for the Napanee Raiders who played a back-to-back in their semi-finals series against the Picton Pirates.
On Saturday night the Raiders lost 4-2 on home ice. After tying the game 2-2 in the second, the Pirate came back to score two more in the third, one one an empty net, to force the series to include a game 5.
Then last night the Raiders took a trip to Picton where a hat trick from Noah Westwater helped the team to a 4-2 victory over the pirates.
The Raiders now lead the best of 7 series at 3-1. Napanee now has a chance to close out the series Tuesday night at the SPC. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
In Napanee minor hockey playoffs, the U18 Stars got a must win, 3-0 over Stirling yesterday, to advance to the OMHA Championship Weekend in Windsor this weekend. Spencer Cranley, Jayden Holden, and Marshall Maracle scored, and Ryan Aldridge earned the shutout in goal.
Earlier, the Desjardins Insurance U13 Stars also earned a birth in the Ontario Championships, theirs in Barrie, starting Friday.
