One driver faces multiple charges after a traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 401 near Napanee. Lennox and Addington County OPP say the driver was stopped at around 3:30am on March 20th and was showing signs of impairment.
As a result, L&A County OPP arrested and charged a 19-year-old of Grafton, Ontario, with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs – Criminal Code (CC)
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero – Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
- Race a motor vehicle – HTA
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor – Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA)
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available – Cannabis Control Act (CCA)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on April 5.
