Two Greater Napanee residents have been arrested and charged in relation to an incident where a firearms was discharged toward a house on Isabella Street East in Greater Napanee.
The investigation thus far indicates that at roughly 7:52 AM on November 22, 2021 a black pickup truck, thought to be a Dodge Ram, was seen in front of the residence. A loud noise, consistent with the sound of a firearm, was heard at the time. The pickup truck left the area immediately afterward. The vehicle of interest was captured on video nearby the scene.
The Lennox & Addington OPP’s Crime Unit have arrested and charged two people in relation to this incident. As well, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Greater Napanee where items were seized as evidence in the investigation. Investigators credit information received from the public as instrumental in the investigation and would like to thank everyone who contacted police.
L&A County have charged a 31-year-old and a 22-year-old, both of Greater Napanee, with:
- Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner;
- Mischief – destroy or damage property;
- Careless use of Firearm; and
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, all contrary to the Criminal Code.
The 22-year-old has been charged additionally with:
- Careless storage of ammunition; and
- Four counts of Fail to comply with undertaking, all contrary to the Criminal Code; and also
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking contrary to the controlled Drug and substance Act.
The 31-year-old was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on January 4, 2022.
The 22-year-old was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on December 9, 2021.
