The pilot project to let Ontario pharmacists administer COVID vaccine begins this Friday.
More than 40 drug stores in the Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington region have been selected to take part in the program.
Initially each participating pharmacy will receive approximately 500 doses to dispense by appointment.
Only those age 60 to 64 will be eligible to register for inoculation.
Who gets the vaccine and when will change as more people receive their first dose of COVID and as vaccine becomes available.
Napanee pharmacies taking part include Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, Walmart and No Frills.
Eligible adults who are interested in booking an appointment, can visit ontario.ca/pharmacycovidvaccine to find a participating pharmacy and can contact the pharmacy to make an appointment.
