OPP say they have laid charges following a weekend collision on Highway 401. A Grey Volkswagen Jetta was reportedly travelling westbound at a high rate of speed and drove into the back of a vehicle.
The driver of the Jetta lost control and came to rest against the concrete median. The driver exited the vehicle before it caught fire. The highway was closed for a short period of time while Belleville Fire Department distinguished the fire. No one was injured in the collision and the driver of the Jetta was arrested and transported to L&A County OPP detachment for processing.
As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged 34 year-old, Bradley W. McIntosh, of Pickering, with:
Operation while impaired, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure or refusal to comply with demand, resist police, assault police and utter threat to cause harm.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in September. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
