A 50-year-old man from Stratford is facing several charges following a reported theft from a residential construction site on Long Point Road in South Marysburgh Ward. On Thursday Prince Edward County OPP officers responded to reports of suspicious activity and theft. Someone had reportedly used a pick-up truck and cargo trailer to remove tools and large appliances, but the pick-up broke down a short distance from the scene and the culprits had fled prior to police arrival. With the assistance of the Street Crime Unit (CSCU), a number of stolen tools and appliances were recovered by police. Following an investigation police have charged the 50-year-old man with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and public mischief. The accused was released and is to appear in Court in June. Anyone with information is requested to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
