Contraband has been seized at Joyceville Institution following a search on February 10th. Correctional Officers and Drug Detector Dogs seized the package just after 12pm after searching an inmate’s personal effects in Admissions and Discharge in the Assessment Unit at the institution. In total 39.55 grams of THC was seized which had an estimated value of $40,000. CSC officers along with the police are continuing their investigation. Correctional Service Canada uses a number of tools to prevent contraband from entering its institutions and is heightening measures to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone
