The Government of Ontario is investing over $233,000 in transit for Marmora and Lake, Bancroft and Deseronto.
L&A MPP Daryl Kramp announced the investments recently.
Marmora and Lake is receiving upwards of $34,000, which will go towards an accessible passenger bus for local transit. Bancroft will get $70,000 to buy public transit vehicles and Deseronto will receive $128,000 for the purchase of transit buses, two shelters and security technology.
The Government of Ontario is nominating townships to the federal government under the Public Transit stream of the shared cost Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, or ICIP.
Final funding decisions are made by the federal government. The ICIP is a 10-year program that provides up to $30 billion in Federal, provincial and local investments across Ontario.
Ontario will pay 33.33 per cent of each project, which is approximately 10.2$ billion spread out over all of them.
