Wilton Remembrance Day - Photo provided
The annual Remembrance Day service in Wilton will take place Nov. 11, bringing residents together to honour those who died serving their country.
The Lions Club of Odessa and District is partnering with the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics to host the ceremony at the Wilton Cenotaph.
The service begins at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, with a temporary road closure in place from 9 a.m. until noon. Loyalist Township approved the closure to allow the ceremony to take place mainly on the street.
The event typically draws about 300 people, including military members, veterans, students, wreath layers, government representatives and emergency responders.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for parking and seating. A flyby is planned for approximately 11 a.m., weather permitting.
Following the ceremony, residents are invited to gather for refreshments and fellowship at the Odessa Agricultural Society Palace at 231 Main St. in Odessa. Access is available from County Road 6.
