The United Way KFL&A is collecting winter coats for people in need as part of its annual coat drive, running until Nov. 17.
Campaign Chair Krista Wells Pearce says the drive collects clean, gently used or new adult outerwear to help people stay warm during the winter.
The campaign collected 1,300 coats in 2025, but was unable to meet the full demand in the community. Wells Pearce says the need for support with basic necessities, including food and housing, continues to grow.
Donations can be dropped off at the L&A Library branches in Napanee and Amherstview, and at Cataractway Centre, Kingston City Hall, and the United Way office on Bagot Street.
Monetary donations are also welcome and help the organization purchase additional coats in bulk.
Wells Pearce says smaller sizes, along with larger, extra large and 2XL coats, can be harder to find.
The coats are sorted by volunteers and distributed through community agencies across KFL&A.
