A Kingston neurology clinic has received national recognition for its commitment to patient safety and quality of care as demand for neurological services continues to grow.
The Neurocentre of Eastern Ontario (NEO Clinic) received Accreditation Canada’s Primer Award for Ambulatory Care Services on Oct. 6.
The award recognizes the clinic’s work toward meeting national standards for health-care quality and patient safety.
Medical Director Dr. Ramana Appireddy says the accreditation gives patients and referring physicians added confidence in the care provided.
Located in Kingston’s east end, NEO Clinic expanded into a 4,000-square-foot facility in June to accommodate more patients and provide additional space for assessments, treatment and rehabilitation.
Its services include care for headaches, migraines, Parkinson’s disease and stroke recovery, as well as neuro-physiotherapy and athletic therapy for concussion rehabilitation.
The clinic reports that patients can currently access a first appointment within 90 days of referral and says it is continuing to work to reduce wait times.
NEO Clinic aims to complement hospital-based services and help more patients access specialized neurological care closer to home.
