A 43-year-old Belleville man faces multiple charges after a police investigation led to a pursuit in Trenton and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a disturbance at a business on Dundas Street West in Trenton at about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 2.
Police allege the man fled on foot from a stolen vehicle before stealing another vehicle from a nearby residence.
The second vehicle was later located in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Officers from the OPP, Tyendinaga Police Service and Belleville Police Service worked together to stop it.
The suspect fled into a wooded area after the vehicle was immobilized. The OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team assisted in the search, and the man was arrested.
The accused faces charges including assault, forcible confinement, vehicle theft, dangerous driving, break and enter, and possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
