Morningstar Mission is preparing to welcome the community for its annual Thanksgiving dinner this weekend.
Executive director Kevin Alkenbrack told myFM doors will open at 4 p.m. Saturday at the mission’s dining hall
Volunteers have been preparing throughout the week by peeling potatoes, chopping vegetables and deboning turkeys. Alkenbrack said the meal is an important opportunity for people to come together and support others in the community.
Morningstar is also accepting volunteers and financial donations. Contributions can be made through e-transfer, CanadaHelps, cash or cheque.
He also encouraged anyone interested in connecting with Morningstar to attend its regular meals, including Wednesday lunch at noon and Saturday supper at 4:30 p.m.
