The Lennox and Addington Libraries are offering a range of free programs for older adults as part of an Older Adult Empowerment Series funded through the Ontario Seniors Community Grant.
Kate Wilson, Libraries Programming & Outreach Coordinator, told myFM the series is designed to give older adults opportunities to stay active, learn new skills and connect with others.
The grant has allowed the libraries to purchase sewing machines and serger equipment.
The series includes the return of chair yoga, as well as Game & Gab, a social program featuring coffee, tea and board games. Participants can also take part in Make & Mingle, a monthly guided craft program.
Another new program, the Memory Lab, will teach participants how to digitize and help preserve family memories.
Registration is required and can be completed online, at a library or by phoning your closest L&A library branch.
The Lennox and Addington Libraries have branches in Napanee, Amherstview, Bath, Tamworth and Yarker.
