Belleville area residents are invited to take part in a Prayer Walk for Peace on Thursday, Nov. 5, to promote unity, healing and public safety.
The walk begins at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, bringing together community members to pray, reflect and show support for one another.
The event is open to everyone, regardless of faith or background.
Participants will gather at the church before walking to a nearby location for prayers, readings and remarks from community leaders. Route details will be shared at the start of the event.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear neutral clothing and leave signs, banners and other displays at home to help maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
The gathering is community-led and focused on peace, respect and healing.
Belleville Police Service Chaplain Brad Beale says the event offers an opportunity for people to come together around shared goals.
The Police Service has also shared Const. Jeff Smith will not attend the Prayer Walk.
