The Museum of Lennox & Addington in Napanee will explore the stories behind second-hand treasures during an upcoming presentation by artist Becky Hinch.
Hinch, a photographer and lifelong thrifter, will present The Art of Thrifting: Following the Invisible Thread on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The talk will look at how used items, from vintage clothing to furniture and handwritten recipes, can connect people across generations. Hinch will share personal stories and discoveries while exploring how thrifting can inspire creativity, preserve history and reveal stories about previous owners.
The presentation draws on Hinch’s experience in photography, community-based art and visual storytelling.
Visitors can also explore the museum’s galleries before the event, including its 1976 Rec Room, which Hinch curated using thrifted finds.
The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the museum, located at 97 Thomas St. E. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $3, while museum members attend free. Registration is not required.
