A 52-year-old from Napanee is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into a Greater Napanee home, stole a vehicle and fled before crashing.
Lennox and Addington County OPP responded to a residence on Sunset Crescent shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday after a man was found inside a home he had previously been evicted from.
Police say the man left the residence, stole a vehicle and fled. Officers later located the vehicle, which crashed into a tree on Deseronto Road, north of Highway 401. The driver then fled on foot.
With help from the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Guardian One helicopter, officers located the man nearby.
Daniel Griffin faces charges including dangerous operation, flight from police, vehicle theft, break and enter, forcible confinement, failing to comply with probation and driving while suspended.
Griffin was held for a bail hearing Wednesday in Greater Napanee.
