Two people have been charged with impaired and dangerous driving following separate single-vehicle collisions in Lennox and Addington County over the weekend.
L&A County OPP say the first crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday on Highway 401. Police say a vehicle travelling westbound approached a cruiser at a high rate of speed before striking the centre median and entering the north ditch.
The 33-year-old driver, Mohamed Ait-Addi of Terrebonne, Que., suffered serious injuries. He was charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation and failing to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing.
On Sunday, police responded to a crash at the Potter Drive roundabout in Loyalist Township shortly before 10 p.m. Kevin Harpell, 33, of Kingston, was charged with two impaired-driving offences and dangerous operation.
Both drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded. Harpell is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 17.
