The Napanee Raiders suffered their first loss of the season Friday night as they hosted the Frankford Huskies.
The Huskies scored first, leading 1-0 in the first period. Frankford then scored two more in the second period for a 3-0 lead. The Huskies solidified their win with their fourth goal of the game early in the third period for a 4-0 final.
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 42 saves on 46 shots on goal.
Sunday night, the Raiders made the trip to Amherstview of the season, to battle their L&A County rivals.
The Jets scored the lone goal of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Amherstview then scored their second of the night early in the second period. About a minute later, Carter Slaven scored the Raiders first only of the night, to end the period with a Jets 2-1 lead. Early in the third period the Jets solidified their win with their third goal of the night for a 3-1 final.
Raiders goalie Denholm Blair made 29 saves on 32 shots on goal.
Standings update: The Napanee Raiders were bumped to third place in the East Tod Division standings with a 4-2 record and 8 points.
The Raiders return to action: Friday, Oct. 9th, when they’ll host the Trent Hills Thunder. Then on Saturday, Ont. 10th, they’ll play the Pirates in Picton. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
Elsewhere in the division this weekend: Thursday night, Picton defeated Port Hope 7-3 at home. Friday night Amherstview hosted the Trent Hills Thunder, losing 3-2 in a shootout. On Saturday Amherstview lost 7-3 Frankford.
