Lennox and Addington County OPP have charged two people following separate vehicle stops over the weekend.
Police say officers were conducting a RIDE check in Addington Highlands shortly after 9 p.m. Friday when they stopped a vehicle. The driver registered a fail on an approved screening device and was arrested.
Ashley Wood, 38, of Flinton, is charged with operation while impaired — over 80 milligrams of alcohol. Wood was released and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Nov. 10. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded.
On Sunday, shortly before 5 p.m., officers were notified of an automatic licence plate reader hit. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver following an investigation.
Christian Ngwale, 30, of Loyalist Township, faces three charges, including operation while prohibited and driving while under suspension. Ngwale is also scheduled to appear Nov. 10.
