Rehabilitation work on County Road 49 in Prince Edward County is continuing, with about 6.5 kilometres of the road now rubblized and covered with gravel.
Tomlinson crews have progressed from County Road 15, to approximately Lyons Road. Construction is taking place seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to help complete the project this year.
The municipality says drivers should expect delays of about five to 10 minutes, with both lanes reopening at the end of each workday. A temporary 60 km/h speed limit remains in effect through the construction zone.
The contractor tentatively plans to begin laying new asphalt during the week of Oct. 5.
Culvert replacements are expected to be completed by the end of this week, while waterproofing of existing concrete box culverts continues toward Picton.
Drivers may encounter single-lane closures, temporary traffic signals and road cuts during the work.
