The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital is supporting the 2026 United Way KFL&A campaign through a staff fundraising initiative which raised $1,540.
Hospital employees have been donating $2 to wear jeans on Fridays, with money raised through the program going to a community charity. This year, the hospital’s So’Well Committee selected the United Way KFL&A as its recipient.
Inpatient nursing manager Holly McCabe said the partnership is a new one for the hospital.
The United Way KFL&A has set a campaign goal of $4.25 million this year. Campaign chair Krista Wells Pearce is greatful for this new partnership and donation,
The United Way KFL&A is currently ahead of its usual pace, having so far raised more that what was raised at this same time last year.
Last year’s campaign helped more than 54,000 people across KFL&A through various programs and community organizations.
Pearce encouraged other local businesses inspired to get involved, saying fundraising can take many forms.
The campaign launched Sept. 10 and will wrap up Nov. 26.
